Among many species, cycads is the most threatened to extinct with a 71 percent rate, The international Union of conservation of nature declared. For a long time Cycads has been one of the most important elements in tropical forests, especially in South Africa and South America, these species thrive in tropical environments. Due to Climate Change and environmental crises, Cycads no longer exist as much as they did before, also because they are so slow to grow and produce infrequently.

But so are so many other species, like coral reefs, which are threatened by overfishing, pollution, coastal development as well as rising levels of sea temperature storms, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions.

the loss of species on earth is now between a 1000 and a 10000 more than the natural extinction rhythm. Meaning between 10000 and 100000 are becoming extinct each year. The over-exploitation of animals and plants makes it harder to face the challenge of climate change and doesn't support sustainability.
